The 8th arrondissement of Paris: what to see and where to eat?

The 8th arrondissement is, first of all, the most famous avenue in the world called the Champs-Elysees, and thus one of the most beautiful areas of the city, adjoining directly to the historic center. It embodies the capital of France that we know from glossy magazines, social chronicles and fashion magazines - luxurious and smart Paris, decorated with prestigious storefronts, signs of expensive restaurants, fashionable hotels and the greenery of well-maintained parks.

The Champs-Élysées starts from the Place de la Concorde, which is decorated with a real ancient Egyptian obelisk. The historical axis of the city runs exactly along this line.

The Avenue ends with the Arc de Triomphe. Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte planned to build it in his honor, but he did not live to see the end of the construction. Now it is a monument of military glory of all Frenchmen, under the arch there is an eternal flame. There is a museum inside the arch, and the roof offers one of the best views of the city.

It's pretty much expected that restaurants on the Champs Elysees will make you pay for the place, not the food. So why not go straight to a star restaurant? You'll be sure that the food will be excellent. For example, dine at Pavyllon, opposite the Petit Palais, or L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon, a two-star restaurant. Connoisseurs of haute cuisine will appreciate the refined menu at Maison de la Truffe, where almost all dishes are topped with truffles. It will be difficult to find a budget establishment near the Champs-Élysées, but in case of emergency there is McDonald's, a favorite of everyone!
