The 4th arrondissement: Medieval Paris and the quintessential tourist attractions

The 4th arrondissement of Paris is located on the right bank of the Seine and includes the island of Saint-Louis and the eastern part of the island of Cité. Here you will find many charming churches, palaces and streets. 

The 4th arrondissement is home to the world-famous Notre-Dame de Paris, whose entrance will be free when its restoration is completed. Also in the 4th arrondissement you will find the Centre National d'Art et de la Culture Georges Pompidou, a contemporary art museum with an observation deck accessible with an additional ticket. 

This district has a variety of shopping : antique shops and art galleries, clothing boutiques and perfume stores are all at your service. It's quite safe and if you stay here you'll have easy access to the main sights, and evening walks through the old back-lit streets will be a separate kind of pleasure.
